PASTOR JERRY L. MAYNARD, II
Pastor Jerry L. Maynard, II was born in Muncie, IN to God-fearing parents who instilled Christian values in his life. These values carried him through his studies at Indiana University where he received a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence.
Pastor Maynard’s education and experiences placed him in key positions as General Council at Meharry Medical College, Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center and Pentecostal Tabernacle Church (Cathedral of Praise Church of God in Christ).
Pastor Jerry Maynard was appointed Pastor of Operations by Bishop Jerry L. Maynard Sr. in 2005, when Cathedral of Praise expanded its outreach into the south side of Nashville with worship services at 2080 12th Avenue South. In 2008, Pastor Jerry Maynard was elevated as Pastor of Southside Community Church.
Jerry L. Maynard, II is best known for his ability to accomplish difficult tasks with proficiency and prowess. This is showcased, along with his passion for the people of Nashville/Davidson County in his community efforts. His advocacy efforts have allowed him to expand Nashville’s tax base, while providing opportunities for success for others. Maynard has been a champion for small, women, and minority-owned businesses because of a core belief that small businesses are the economic engine of any thriving city.
After eight years of serving as councilmember-at-large and focused attention in the areas of budget and finance, education, healthcare and economic development, Maynard embarked on a new venture, opening The Maynard Group, with the critical focus of developing and creating economic success for all.
